The Jordan Atomic Energy Commission

represented by the Jordan Research and Training Reactor, held a Level 1 Radiation Protection Course for a group of officers and personnel from the Nuclear Security Unit of the Northern Gendarmerie Command and a number of research reactor employees.

This course is part of a series of training programs held at the reactor to instill a culture of radiation protection in nuclear and radiological facilities.

The course covered a wide range of topics in the field of radiation protection, with 34 training hours, including two scientific tours of the reactor facilities. It also included practical training on the use of measuring devices and personal protective equipment, as well as training on searching for radioactive sources.

The course graduation ceremony was attended by the Commander of the Northern Gendarmerie Command, Marwan Beyk Al-Ayasrah, who praised the high level of training provided to the Nuclear Security Unit at the reactor and the fruitful partnership between the Gendarmerie forces and the reactor personnel in maintaining the security and safety of the facility.
